How moving can change your life: The power of Astrocartography

We all know that moving and travelling has a powerful influence on our mindset. This is a reason why a lot of us choose to travel and relocate. We feel drawn to places that we know are good for us and conversely, we avoid places that aren’t. Oftentimes, our natural inclinations toward places can be reflected in our Astrocartography map.

Astrocartography or locational astrology, is a tool we can use to discover where in the world we can thrive and best achieve our goals. If you are feeling stuck, fed up and underappreciated in any area of your life, moving to a new locality may prove to be helpful for you.

Your Astrocartography map is based on your natal chart (this is a snapshot of where the planets were in the sky at the time and place you were born). You may have been born at sunrise but on the other side of the world, the sun was setting (and simultaneously in other positions) in different places all over the world. The same goes for all other planets in your chart. The Astrocartography map lines are a representation of where the planets were simultaneously rising, setting, culminating and anti-culminating across the globe at your time of birth.

Travelling to a place where planets ‘shift’ to different positions could be key to your success. Note that if your planets are in bad condition (for example, if they are in detriment or fall or have a lot of difficult aspects), moving close to such a planetary line can also bring out more problems in your life so be sure to check the condition of your planet before moving!

Also, note that your Astrocartography map is just one piece of the puzzle. While looking at the map can provide you with helpful information, it does not reveal the full picture. While you might think going to a Jupiter line will bring nothing but sunshine and rainbows, it is rarely as simplistic as that. Going to a new place could ‘shift’ other planets in your chart to other houses in the relocated chart which could bring misfortune in your life.

Don’t mistakenly think that that just because somewhere does not have a line on the map, the place will have no effect on you either. This is absolutely not true and the reality is, every single place can impact your life. This can be reflected in your relocation chart. This chart represents the position of the planets at your time of birth in a different location.

You can calculate a relocation chart for every single place on this planet and we can see how things play out in a particular location based on the chart. It is just that the map only shows where planets fall on the angles in the relocated chart (the ascendant, descendant, Imum Coeli (IC) and Medium Coeli (MC), not the other houses in the relocated chart.

It is important to consider your whole relocated chart and also parans (where planetary line intersect) as this can reveal a lot more about what to expect in a particular location. This is what I do when I perform readings. I also carefully analyse your natal chart and consider the condition of your planets and placements to see where in the world would be a good fit for you.

I always want to ensure I can best help others understand what energies you can expect to play out for you in a particular place so that you have a good idea of what blessings this may bring, but also prepare you for any challenges you may face in a particular location.
